Zusammenfassung:In 2009 was realized one partial repair in CSN #2 Blast Furnace. In this partial repair, samples was collected of the carbon based refractory lining with the goal to develop "post mortem" studies for determine the main mechanisms of corrosion, In this "post mortem" study was realized physical-chemical characterization of the samples collected of refractory lining, by the follow technical's: chemical analyses by X ray fluorescence (XRF), mineralogical phases analysis by X ray diffraction (XRD), real density by helium picnometry, microstructures analysis by scanning electron microscopy (SEM/EDS). The study showed that carbon based refractory, even after 26Mt hot metal produced, keep with the same physical-chemical characteristics in region opposite of iron notch. However, the based carbon brick's near around the iron notch, appears infiltration of hot metal and slag and a considerable deposition of zinc.
