Zusammenfassung: | Patch repair is sometimes used to enhance the service life of a damaged structure. In this study,
p-convergent layered model is proposed for the analysis of patch repair. Without sacrificing the 3-D character, for ease of modeling and computational efficiency, 2-D layered model is used assuming linear in-plane strain variation and constant strain across the thickness. The
p-level of displacement components is varied from 1 to 10. The effect of such repair on the stress intensity factor based on LEFM and the stress field near the crack tip are investigated. In three cases of cracked panels considered, the results are compared with published values. Apart from significantly modifying the response quantities, bending action in the presence of patches is noted. |
