Zusammenfassung:A compact band notched ultra‐wideband (UWB) antenna with the Hilbert‐curve slot (HCS) is proposed. By introducing the HCS on the UWB antenna, a compact size and the frequency notch function can be simultaneously obtained. On imprinting the HCS on the UWB antenna, the notched 5 GHz wireless local area network (WLAN) band was realized. As for the HCS implementation, we make use of the third iteration order Hilbert‐curve. Numerical simulations and measurements for the proposed antenna demonstrate that the presented methodology is accurate and efficient to design the compact band notched UWB antenna. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
