Zusammenfassung: | We present a new approach to the synthesis of inorganic coatings based on the ability of cultured cells to actively uptake large amounts of nanoparticles. The cellular matrix allows maintaining the adhesion of the nanoparticles to the substrate at temperatures high enough to allow bonding of the powders on the substrate during a subsequent thermal degradation. Exploiting different cell abilities it is possible to obtain patterning and formation of nanocomposites even on substrates characterized by complex geometries. These results suggest that cultured eukaryotic cells have good potential as a tool for the realization of inorganic coatings. |
