Zusammenfassung:A ‘software sensor’ associating a redox potential probe (sensor) and an estimation algorithm (software) is proposed in order to provide on-line estimation of substrate concentration and biomass activity in Thiobacillus ferrooxidans cultures. The design of this ‘software sensor’ is presented, as well as its experimental validation under various culture conditions. Its reliability performances are illustrated by an application in bioreactor monitoring and control.
