Zusammenfassung:The role of chemistry in affecting dealloying along and across grain boundaries is investigated in nanocrystalline Ag–Au and Cu–Au. The microstructural evolution, through a combination of in situ and ex situ electron microscopy, is correlated with measurements of grain boundary chemistry via a statistical analysis. A critical concentration of segregated Au, 40%, inhibits grain boundary corrosion and strongly influences the microstructural evolution.
