Zusammenfassung: | Cisplatin, a slightly water soluble anticancer drug, has been incorporated into biodegradable poly(d,l-lactide) microspheres with the oil in oil emulsion method. Lactic acid oligomer microspheres incorporating cisplatin prepared with the oil in oil method contained more than 90% of the cisplatin prepared, and 50% of the cisplatin was released during 24 h, and another 25% of the cisplatin was then released at a slower rate over 21 days. It follows that this microsphere preparation oil in oil method is quite efficient with 95% of cisplatin associated with the microspheres after preparation. The controlled administration of cisplatin using microspheres may enhance the therapeutic potency of cisplatin and decrease the toxic effects. |
