Zusammenfassung:Kochar et al present the case of an 88-year-old woman with painless unilateral proptosis. She was admitted to the Thayer Firm for close monitoring of intraocular pressure and to identify the cause of her proptosis. Given the extent of chemosis, a moisture chamber was applied to the patient's left eye to prevent exposure keratopathy. Additional treatment included application of levobunolol, dorzolamide, and brimonidine eye drops to decrease intraocular pressure. After 1 day, her intraocular pressure remained elevated, therefore latanoprost eye drops and acetazolamide 125 mg, twice daily, were added to her initial drug regimen. Her intraocular pressure gradually declined, and her chemosis and proptosis improved. After discharge, she demonstrated continued improvement in visual acuity and color vision. Her extraocular movements became full, and intra-ocular pressure normalized.
