Zusammenfassung:There have been several recent publications documenting false positive detection of anti-hepatitis C virus (HCV) antibody by enzyme immunoassay (Ortho-HCV ELISA) in some autoimmune mediated hepatic diseases. It has prompted us to report our experience in the case of a child with severe Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) hepatitis, who developed a positive antiHCV antibody reaction during the acute phase of his illness.
