Zusammenfassung:The triazine weedkiller, 2-methylthio-4-tert-butylamino-6-cyclopropylamino-s-triazine (IGAROL 1051) had been incorporated into some marine paints to inhibit growth of alga on boat hulls. Samples of coastal waters from 20 locations along the Cote d'Azur, from Cannes to Monaco, were analysed for this compound. Measurable amounts were found at most locations, the highest concentrations being associated with yacht marinas. Further studies were required to assess the sub-acute toxicity of this compound.
