Preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio predicts response to first-line platinum-based chemotherapy and prognosis in serous ovarian cancer

Purpose To investigate the role of preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in prediction of response to first-line platinum-based chemotherapy and survival outcome in serous ovarian cancer (SOC) patients. Zusammenfassung:Purpose To investigate the role of preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in prediction of response to first-line platinum-based chemotherapy and survival outcome in serous ovarian cancer (SOC) patients. Methods Clinicopathologic data were reviewed for patients with SOC treated with primary cytoreduction followed by platinum-based chemotherapy. The correlations of NLR value with clinicopathological features, clinical response to chemotherapy, and survival outcome were further explored. Results High preoperative NLR was significantly associated with advanced FIGO stage, histological grade, increased serum CA-125 level, and positive lymph node metastasis ( P
