Zusammenfassung:A high-molecular-weight water-soluble manganese(III) porphyrin having four poly(ethylene glycol) tails was prepared, which enhanced the T1 relaxation rate of water protons by ca. 7.5-fold compared with manganese(III)–tetra(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphyrin. The new compound also exhibited superoxide dismutase-like activity and significantly lower cytotoxicity.
