Zusammenfassung:A combined single‐line and multi‐line scanning method reduces the address period while maintaining image quality. This is important for realizing 4000 line TV displays. Peak signal to noise ratio of the test images exceeds 40 dB when the number of simultaneously scanned line is 2. When the number is 3, the image degradation is acceptable. Experiments with 120‐Hz frame rate PDPs verify that the method maintains image quality.
