The effect of ultra-fast photopolymerisation of experimental composites on shrinkage stress, network formation and pulpal temperature rise

Highlights • TPO and CQ-based experimental resin composites were prepared and their physical properties analyzed. • The use of TPO with appropriate curing parameters leads to improved conversion. • Mechanical properties in TPO-composites were improved compared to the CQ-controls. • Polymerization st...

Zusammenfassung:Highlights • TPO and CQ-based experimental resin composites were prepared and their physical properties analyzed. • The use of TPO with appropriate curing parameters leads to improved conversion. • Mechanical properties in TPO-composites were improved compared to the CQ-controls. • Polymerization stress levels were similar between TPO and CQ-resin composites in some cases. • Temperature rise during polymerization measured in a tooth model were well below 5.5 °C.
