Zusammenfassung:All-optical envelope detection of a 5 GHz 200 Mbit/s, modulated radio frequency signal is achieved, using a 650 nm resonant cavity light emitting diode. Error-free transmission is achieved over a 50 m-long link of 1 mm diameter graded index polymer optical fibre (POF). The presented system has potential applications in low cost and low complexity, short range wireless and wireline POF-based transmission links.
