Compressed Chatting Over Internet

In all smart phones there are various applications (apps) which can be used for chatting, sharing images, audios, videos and communicate with each other. But the main disadvantage of these applications is they cannot be used to send and receive text file. Also we cannot able to send compressed images while chatting over the internet to save the bandwidth.
