On shortening the rearing period of the big-sized young soft shell turtle for culture

Owing to taking such measures as raising the water temperature and increasing illumination, feeding with good quality diets, comprehensively adjusting water quality, preventing and treating disease and enclosing management, into the water area of 271 m super(2) released 5410 young soft shell turtles and culturing more than 200 days produced total output of the big-sized young soft shell turtles of 950.4 kg, 3.5 kg per m super(2) on average. The body weight of the stock increased 60.54 times. The survival rate was 68.98% and the average size was 254.7g/ind. The net profit was 307924 yuan and the ratio of input and output was 1:2.37.
