| Zusammenfassung: | Pneumatic rotary-percussion equipment, including a hand-held jackhammer drill and air track drills, were employed to install 20 tipping plate anchors in soils with high fractions of rock. The 18 commercially-available anchors, the smallest of which had maximum cross-section dimensions of 90 mm, resisted loads of 23 tonnes or more when driven to depths of 2 m or more. Tests with two special anchor design indicated that capacities approaching 50 tonnes per anchor installation might be achieved. |
