Inducing effect of visual stimulus for moving targets in red sea bream Pagrus major

The effects on feeding behavior of red sea bream were observed and evaluated by the method of Fernö when three kinds of target (weight, lure, rectangular piece of squid bait) were stopped and moved. Though the inducing effects could be observed both in the static and in the moving targets, the effects of the moving targets were more significantly effective than those of the static ones. The significant differences of the inducing effects between the three kinds of targets, which were moving at 8 seconds cycles, and the static ones were clear, and the differences of the inducing effects between moving targets and static ones were not significantly different between the three targets. Additionally, the effect of coloring was suggested in inducting of the feeding behavior.
