Colonization of tropical rain forest leaves by epiphylls: effects of site and host plant leaf lifetime

A study examined the rates of epiphyll colonization at mature forest sites in Panama that differed in rainfall and/or elevation. Epiphyll cover increased with time, and lichens were more common than liverworts.
