Composition of the essential oil of Teucrium haenseleri Boiss

The composition of the essential oils isolated from the aerial parts of Teucrium haenseleri Boiss. collected during the flowering period and the vegetative phase of the plant, was analysed by GC and GC–MS. The oils consisted mainly of monoterpenes (84% in the oil from the flowers, 82% and 82% in the oils from the flowering and vegetative leaves, respectively). α‐Pinene and β‐pinene were the dominant components in all the oils (42–54%). The sesquiterpene fraction (8–11%) was always dominated by δ‐cadinene (3–5%). © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
