Injectable moxidectin for cattle: effects on two species of dung-burying beetles

Dung from steers injected subcutaneously with the parasiticide moxidectin (0.2 mg/kg body weight) was bioassayed with the dung beetles Euoniticellus intermedius (Reiche) and Onthophagus gazella (L.). Zusammenfassung:Dung from steers injected subcutaneously with the parasiticide moxidectin (0.2 mg/kg body weight) was bioassayed with the dung beetles Euoniticellus intermedius (Reiche) and Onthophagus gazella (L.). There were no effects on the mean numbers of brood balls produced by either beetle species or on the emergence of adult beetles from brood balls constructed from the dung of injected cattle. The sex ratio of the progeny of both species was not affected by moxidectin.
