Zusammenfassung:In the early twentieth century, Tarde was one of the most eminent European sociologists. He wrote books reprinted and translated into numerous languages. Their socio-psychological explanation of individual action had seduced a broad audience for its affinity with hypnosis and spiritualism then in vogue. He was awarded prestigious medals.
