Zusammenfassung: | The growing complexity of man-machine systems requires greater attention in the design of information exchange across the man-machine interface. ‘Meaningful interaction’ is the goal of such design. This paper presents some background from human-computer interaction (HCI) and discusses potential insights from communication theory and from semiotics. Such insights yield an agenda for research into principles for information organisation and interface design toward meaningful interaction in complex man-machine systems. |
