Tetranychus urticae Koch and Oligonychus bagdasariani Baker and Pritchard, (Acari: Tetranychidae) spider mites of importance for grape (Vitis vinifera L.) in the state of Zulia: Taxonomic description and damage

The spider mites Tetranychus urticae and Oligonychus bagdasariani are reported and taxonomically described for grape, Vitis vinifera , in Zulia State. Both species are frequent and may reach high populations, causing a yellowish coloration or bronzing of the leaves. In the field these species are easily distinguished by colour and the colonies inhabit the upper leaf for O. bagdasariani an the lower leaf for T. urticae . They may occur at the same time on the leaf.
