Zusammenfassung:	Highlights • We investigate the usefulness of conventional magnetic resonance imaging (C-MRI) for diagnosing amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). • We focused corticospinal tract (CST) hyperintensity on C-MRI in patients with ALS. • Our results showed that the rate of CST positivity was higher in patients with definite-ALS than others. • C-MRI can play an important role in diagnosing ALS.
