Assessment of the un program for design of sewers

There are several computer programs which solve the wastewater network systems or pipelines. Two of them are the UN program and conventional wastewater program which is used in the Turkish private sector. The UN program is based on the Manning equation and analyses the system by using the given maximum and minimum flow velocities. The conventional wastewater program designs the sewerage network system by using Provincial Bank Codes. The application results showed that soil excavation calculated by the conventional program is higher than the soil excavation calculated by the UN program. The overall cost of the preliminary design of the project obtained by the UN program is 28% less than the cost value of the conventional program.
