T3 supplementation affects ventilatory timing & glucose levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus model

Highlights • Streptozotocin (STZ) and nicotinamide (N) increased blood glucose, but did not affect ventilation. • Treatment of STZ/N rats with T3 altered T I and decreased blood glucose levels. • In STZ/N rats treated with T3 T I and blood glucose levels were highly correlated.
