CD4+ T-cells, γδ T-cells and B-cells are associated with lack of vaccine protection in Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis infection

Highlights • Not all animals are protected by vaccination against Johne's disease. • Following vaccination, IFNγ and antibody responses are not indicative of disease protection. • We identified early immune responses in sheep that were not protected by vaccination.
