Zusammenfassung:On the workmanship and stylistic origins of a silver Crucifix processional cross (1616; Pistoia, Museo Diocesano) produced in Lucca and inscribed "LM Lucensis F AD MDCXVI." Notes that the figure of Christ is modelled on the Crucifixes of Giambologna, present in Lucca 1577-1579 and then in close contact with the Flemish goldsmith Baldassare Morovella, who resided in this city. Examines the executive technique of the cross and its state of conservation, and describes the technique and materials adopted by the Opificio delle pietre dure for its restoration (2012-2013).
