Zusammenfassung:The pesticide exposure of workers applying ethion to Florida citrus crops by handgun was analyzed. The applicators were equipped with alpha-cellulose pads to measure exposure levels. Leg and hand exposure accounted for 78 and 73% of the applicators' exposure, respectively, and 67% of the driver's exposure. The driver received about one-fifth of the estimated total body accumulation rate of the applicators. The citrus handgun applicators had a pesticide exposure 5-10 times greater than with other application work practices.
