Determination of toxaphene in fish from Northern Europe

Concentrations of toxaphene were determined in fish from the Netherlands and adjacent marine areas by GC/NCl-MS after thorough clean-up. Levels of toxaphene lay between 0.1 and 7 mg / kg on lipid basis. Toxaphene components showing different environmental behaviour are distinguished.
