Application of electric field for production of immobilized biocatalysts
A new technique is presented for the production of small hydrogel beads to immobilize biocatalysts. The technique utilizes electric-field-accelerated dripping to form reproducible beads with required sizes and enables the in-situ production of beads under 1 mm diameter in bioreactors.
