Zusammenfassung:A 62-year-old man, who was refractory to repeated hydrodistentions for interstitial cystitis, underwent augmentation cystoplasty using ileal patch. Pathological examination revealed no malignancy. Computed tomography (CT) scan showed multiple pelvic and para-aortic lymph-node swellings at 14 months after the operation. CT-guided lymph-nodes biopsies and transurethral bladder biopsies revealed invasive urothelial carcinoma with lymph node metastasis. In patients with symptoms of interstitial cystitis, bladder cancer should be kept in mind despite negative findings of cytology and bladder biopsies.
