Zusammenfassung:This article points out some issues relationated to the concepts of interculturality and mainly intercultural education. We assume that this concept is an historically constructed object, so we show the different meanings given to interculturality in three contexts interconected: United States, Europe (with special attention to the case of Spain) and Latin America (focusing on Mexico). The history of the concept in every country will demonstrate the controversies around its origin and will allow us to review the convergencies through the intercultural theory. We finish the article offering a proposal from a de-colonial approach for future researches on these subjects.
