Zusammenfassung:Observations made in French Guiana provide new data on the relationships of certain Harpactorinae with plants. These species show a striking appetite for sugars and many of them live on plants producing viscid or sticky substances. A species of Harpactorini, Zelus araneiformis Haviland, completes its postembryonic development on a myrmecophilous tree, Cecropia obtusa Aubl. (Cecropiaceae), while feeding on special glandular formations produced by this tree (Muellerian bodies and pearl bodies).
