Zusammenfassung: | Residential radon (progeny) exposure in homes in the United States has been estimated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to cause as many as 20,000 additional lung cancers per year. This represents about 12 percent of the total lung cancers, and is second only to smoking as a cause of lung cancer. There is, however, no scientific consensus that residential radon exposure causes this many, or any, lung cancers. |
