Zusammenfassung: | Perioperative hypothermia and shivering are often seen in surgical patients postoperatively and can be detrimental and affect patients recovery. Postoperative shivering associated with monitored anesthesia care (MAC) has not been a signicant concern for anesthesia professionals in outpatient centers because of the difculty of obtaining core temperature measurements in this setting. However, because outpatient and ambulatory surgery are dramatically on the rise because of continual improvements in minimally invasive surgery, anesthesia professionals have to provide cost-effective care that fast-tracks patients safely through the recovery process. |
