Zusammenfassung:The cyanide-degrading fungus Rhizopus oryzae associated with post-harvest spoilage of cassava (Manihot esculenta L.) oxidized S super(0) to S sub(2)O sub(3) super(2-), S sub(4)O sub(6) super(2-) and SO sub(4) super(2-) in culture and when grown in autoclaved soils amended with S super(0). Oxidation of sulfur was associated with rhodanese activity of the fungus.
