Zusammenfassung:	The distribution of N alpha -acetylhistidine-deacetylating enzyme, which deacetylates N alpha -acetyl-L-histidine resulting in the release of histidine, in 13 tissues of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss ) was examined. The brain was very rich in the activity. Very high activity was found in the eye and kidney with lower activity in the small intestine and liver. No detectable activity was found in the gill, heart, spleen blood, stomach, pyroric caeca, muscle, or lens.
