Zusammenfassung: | The present study concerns investigation of gentamicin nephrotoxicity in established renal cells. Aminoglycosides including gentamicin exhibit significant nephrotoxicity. Established renal cells provide useful models for study of renal pharmacology and toxicology. In this investigation we have used the established renal cell lines, LLC-PK sub(1) (of proximal tubular origin) and MDCK (of distal tubular and collecting duct origin). We have used biochemical, electrophysiological and flow cytometric techniques in the investigation of effects of gentamicin on these two cell types. |
