Zusammenfassung:	The coagulation/microfiltration (C/MF) process consists of the addition of an iron-based coagulant, such as ferric chloride (FeCl^sub 3^), to As-contaminated water followed by the MF process. The FeCl^sub 3^ will hyclrolyzc in water to form ferric hydroxide [Fe(OH)^sub 3^], which has a net positive charge on the surface of the particles formed. The net positive charge of the Fe(OH)^sub 3^ particles is a function of the water pH.
