Zusammenfassung:The authors describe the reduction of the mortality of amphibian tadpoles exposed to cypermethrin (CY) in the presence of aquatic ferns. Tadpoles of Physalaemus biligonigerus and aquatic ferns Salvinia herzogii were selected to carry out these tests and experiments were done with and without plants. In tanks planted with ferns CY concentrations decrease rapidly. The percentages of mortality of the tadpoles exposed to CY with the aquatic ferns were significantly lower (P < 0.01) than those exposed to the insecticide without the ferns.
