Zusammenfassung:Transformation studies were performed using six clinical isolates of Streptococcus pneumoniae as recipients. Donor DNA was prepared from one Streptococcus pneumoniae isolate, four Streptococcus meteor and five Streptococcus sanguis II nasopharyngeal isolates. Transformation frequencies of clinical recipients were dependent on whether competence factor was produced and capsule integrity.
