Zusammenfassung: | Distribution and behavior of selected pharmaceutical chemicals, including analgesics of the phenazone type and the most popular psychomotor stimulant, caffeine, have been determined in raw sewage and sewage effluents from treatment plants of several Croatian cities using gas chromatography with mass selective detection. The concentration of caffeine in untreated municipal sewage was rather high and relatively uniform (40-100 mu g L super(-1)).
