Zusammenfassung: | The elimination of hydrogen sulphide from waste gas treatment in terms of the pH, temperature and substrate concentration was examined to provide data for large scale systems. Sulphide oxidation was investigated with a mixed culture of bacteria for a sulphide concentration range of 0.005 to 3.5 mM, a pH of 1.0 to 9.0 and temperatures of 10 to 40C. The optimal conditions for biological activity were established and these were: 3 mM of sulphide, a pH of 7.0 and a mesophilic temperature of 40C. The biological elimination of hydrogen sulphide from waste gas is possible providing favourable parameters can be established. There are 39 references. |
