Zusammenfassung: | The freshwater nemertine Prostoma graecense is reported for the first time from the Rocky Mountain region of the United States. We collected P. graecense from a spring seepage-moss habitat near Bogg's Creek, Pueblo County, Colorado. The community of the habitat containing P. graecense included larvae of four species of flies (Diptera), one aquatic oligochaete, one nematode, and one rotifer. Prostoma graecense appeared to rely on insect larvae as a primary food source. Feeding behavior and habitat characteristics of P. graecense are described. |
