Zusammenfassung:The acoel turbellarian Neochildia fusca exhibits modified spiral cleavage which is characterized by the formation of pairs of micromeres (duets) from the vegetal macromeres after the two-cell stage. The first duet is formed during the four-cell stage whereas the second duet is formed during the six-cell stage. The third duet is formed by the macromeres to form the 12-cell stage.
