Zusammenfassung: | Bronchopleural fistula (BPF) after pneumonectomy remains a dangerous complication with high mortality and morbidity. Primary closure of the fistula with muscle flaps and a thoracic window is generally used to treat BPF. New techniques for secondary stump closure including glues, stents and coils have been introduced recently. We report the use of a J-shaped tracheal stent device placed during bronchoscopy combined with omentoplasty to control the symptoms related to BPF and pleural space infection, respectively. |
