Zusammenfassung:The biology of the predatory histerid beetle Phelister haemorrhous Marseul was studied in the laboratory. Females deposit eggs singly 2-4 mm deep in soil beneath cattle dung. Embryonic incubation averaged 1.9 days and larval development (two instars) averaged 12.2 days. The duration of the pupal stage averaged 5.1 days at 25-28 degree C. Development from oviposition to adult averaged 19 days.
